Improvements to Taft Charter High School are being constructed in eight phases. The project involves demolishing permanent buildings, removing existing portable buildings, constructing new permanent buildings that provide adequate learning spaces and support areas, upgrading and replacing aging utilities and infrastructure, and providing new landscaping and hardscaping. It also includes the modernization of existing structures, including accessible facilities consistent with the requirements of the ADA, seismic retrofit pursuant to California Assembly Bill 300, and low voltage upgrades to support current technology.
