Delivered via design-build services, this project included four buildings totaling more than 70,000 square feet contained on a 10-acre parcel, which was fully developed as a component of the project. The compound was designed to meet the City's stringent requirements necessary to operate the facility 24 hours a day. It includes a 43,000-square foot maintenance facility that houses state-of-the-art equipment to service a fleet of transit vehicles, separate bus wash and brake service buildings, and a 20,000-square foot multilevel Administration, Management and Community Center building. Three SCAQMD-certified fueling lanes served by four USTs provide an inclusive service yard, which the City requires to maintain its transportation services. A portion of the bus parking area is shaded by a 14,000-square foot photovoltaic structure consisting of 432 modules that deliver green power to the facility. The site includes more than 185,000-square feet of new concrete paving with intricate doweling details to properly support the weight of the bus vehicle traffic.
